Cancellation Policy
A Legal Disclaimer: Payment and Booking Confirmation
A booking is secured and contractual obligations begin only upon our issuance of a written confirmation following receipt of the required deposit or full payment.
Refund Policy - The Basics
The following schedule applies to cancellations initiated by the Customer or Group Leader:
Time of Cancellation (Prior to Tour Date)Refund Policy
-> 60 Days or More Full refund* ** ***, less any non-refundable deposit or service fees.
-> 30 to 59 Days 50% of the payments* ** *** made will be refunded.
-> Less than 30 Days, No refund will be issued.
-> No-Show No refund will be issued.
*Note: Payments do not include fundraising as fundraisers are used to support student travel. All fundraised money will be used for the schoolâs scholarship program for future trips with American History Tours. Fundraised amounts are non-transferable. Payments will be distributed within 60 days of cancellation.
** Trips with flights: The cost of the flights is nonrefundable. Flights are purchased approximately 4 - 6 months in advance.
*** Trips with Broadway Shows: Broadway show tickets are purchased as early as possible and are non refundable. The amount of the ticket is nonrefundable once purchased.
Additionally: Cancellation due to governmental authority preventing the trip from being possible will be refunded at 100% up to time of departure.
Additionally: cancellation within the 60 day window due to illness or injury preventing the participant from attending will be refunded at 90% so long as payments have been made on time. Note, the illness or injury may need to be supported by a doctorâs note at the discretion of American History Tours.
Trip Insurance is also available through Travelex Insurance Services. Please note, it must be purchased within 14 days of registration. Use the link provided at the end of registration.
Trip Protection: is available when signing up online.
It allows you to cancel your trip at any time for any reason up until 6:00 pm the day before the trip departs for a full refund minus the deposit and any fundraising.
Late Payments: Participants who have not made their payments by the agreed upon due dates may be removed from the trip and forfeit their nonrefundable deposit.
Cancellation by American History Tours LLC (Force Majeure)
AHT reserves the right to cancel any tour due to Force Majeure (including acts of nature, venue closures, or government actions). In such cases, AHT's liability is strictly limited to offering the customer a full credit or a full refund of amounts paid.
